A Good Day...

...is a day when you get to post a long excerpt from Joy in the Morning and be on-topic. And some nice person had already posted the passage in an easily Googlable place, so I could just cut and paste it! I am a ray of sunshine (in short supply in Milwaukee today).

This started as a nitpick, which I wasn't going to post, but now it's confusing enough to be epistemological. The other poster calls the* Wodehouse book "Jeeves in the Morning," and there are web entries for "Jeeves in the Morning," but Amazon has "Joy in the Morning" for both a Betty Smith book and a Wodehouse book. Searching Amazon's site brings up BOTH a Wodehouse "Joy in the Morning" (there's a picture of the cover, with that title clearly visible) and a "Jeeves in the Morning." Very confusing.

*Now, after investigation, I have to say "a" Wodehouse book. The same? or not?

The UK title is Joy in the Morning, from the quote (from Psalm 30) "Joy cometh in the morning." The US title is Jeeves in the Morning, because US readers need to be banged over the head with the Jeeves-and-Woosterness of it all. I like the UK title better, even though my copy has the US title.
